Byron When it… Sizzles?

Byron is a sleepy coastal town, so don’t expect to come here and go out “raving” every night… go back to Sydney for that.

However as the day’s sun sets over the sea, the tide doesn’t change on Byron’s trend of delicious food haunts; you’ve just got to know where to go.

P. and the Byron Sunset

Thai Lucy; a small restaurant behind the famous Beach Hotel is a hangout for locals (inc. famous locals) looking for great quality Asian food at a reasonable price.

Keep an eye on the specials, the chefs source great quality local produce and the specials feature the best seasonal meals. (Our last meal was an amazing duck & mushroom dish that will have us coming back).Dinner options don’t end at Thai Lucy – no matter what your budget, Byron delivers. Top picks for budget dinners would be Fishhead’s next to the Beach Hotel (also the Beach Hotel itself serves up decent burgers and steaks). For something a little special, Rae’s at Wategos Beach is an experience. Annie and I had an amazing whole baby snapper with asian greens that was very impressive. Dessert was a caramalised banana dish that left us wanting more! Menu is prepared daily.

ACPC Tip: Eat a light lunch to take advantage of Rae’s full dinner menu.

Now for somewhere a little more fun and funky St Elmo’s tapas bar is perfect and one of our favourite Byron restaurants. Named after the 80’s cult film, this bar offers an original array of delicious share plates and a fantastic choice of wines.
